Awkward duck candids

The other day, I thought I’d try out a new camera lens by taking some photos of ducks. It turned out that the ducks were all having the duck version of a bad hair day. If the ducks were on facebook, they would immediately demand that I untag them from these pictures.

Female Mallard: lovely coy pose, but blinked.

Sorry everyone, someone flew in front of the picture.

Wood Ducks: sorry, you had your mouth open.

Okay, ready?

What are you doing?!

Female Hooded Merganser: not you too!

Oh come on.

Male Mallard (and male Wood Duck): That's it. I'm done.

  1. Thanks for the smiles on this one! Great awkward ducks. Now you got me thinking though, all the artist submissions for the federal duck stamp should actually look as silly as these photos :)

    • Haha! Now that you mention it, I think something like the last photo would be a great duck stamp – one of the ducks looking all dignified and elegant, as befits the occasion, and the other scratching away.
